玛莎·考克斯·麦基, JD, LLM, an adjunct professor at Quincy University, has been appointed to the Board of Directors at the Mercy College of 健康 Sciences in Des Moines, 爱荷华州. Marsha McGee’s appointment at Mercy College began on July 1, 2024.

“I am honored to take on this role at Mercy College of 健康 Sciences,” said Marsha McGee. “Mercy College performs a special role in Catholic higher education for 爱荷华州 and the Midwest, and the Sisters of Mercy have a distinguished tradition of founding and sponsoring universities in many parts of the country. I hope to do my part in supporting Mercy higher education, as I also work to advance the great Franciscan mission of Quincy University.”

Prior to her time at QU, Marsha McGee most recently was the president of Simpson College in 爱荷华州. Her previous positions in higher education also included service as the president of Walsh College in Michigan and as a 业务 dean at Susquehanna University in Pennsylvania and St. Edward’s University in Texas.

Founded in 1899 and enrolling about 900 students, Mercy College of 健康 Sciences specializes in the health sciences and is located in downtown Des Moines. Mercy College offers associate, bachelor’s, and master’s degrees. The College also offers certificate programs and continuing education courses. Mercy College was founded by the Sisters of Mercy and is one of several Catholic colleges and universities in 爱荷华州.

“We congratulate Marsha McGee on her appointment to the Board of Directors at Mercy College of 健康 Sciences,” said Ralph Oakley, chair of the Quincy University Board of Trustees. “Former college presidents often become university trustees, and it is no surprise that a distinguished leader like Marsha would be sought out for service at a Catholic institution that doesn’t compete with QU. Both Quincy University and Mercy College will benefit from her volunteer leadership and wise counsel.”
